MoonTouch works.

Initial Touch Location

Initial Touch Location

The first point of contact from the screen is called the Initial Touch Location (ITL) and works as an anchor for the navigation system.

Unlocking the phone

Unlocking the phone

  1. Touch the screen, leaving enough space on the sides. You will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: locked.

  2. Drag your fingers towards the right. After a threshold, you will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: <current time>.

  3. Now, you may release the touch or drag your finger back to the ITL. You will feel a vibration with no audio feedback.

  4. From the ITL, you may further drag your finger towards the left for <current day and date> or top for <battery percentage>.

  5. Drag your finger from ITL towards the bottom. You will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: unlock. To unlock, release the touch.

  6. To prevent unlocking the phone or cancelling any action, drag your finger back to ITL and release the touch.

  7. This navigation system is called Sticky Scroll.

Home Screen

Home Screen

  1. Home Screen is one of the few screens that have a different layout, including Call and Dialpad Screens (covered later).

  2. The screen is divided into three sections: Utility, Left, and Right. Utility is a thin row at the top, and there are two columns below it.

  3. The Utility row has four action buttons: Time, Date, Battery, and Lock Device. Left Side has apps and feature groups and the Right Side shows their corresponding available actions.

  4. Touch the screen in the Utility row and drag your finger left or right. You will feel a vibration as you switch between the buttons and get audio feedback: <action button name>. Releasing the touch to perform the action.

  5. Note that the touch cannot be dragged from one section to another. You must release it and touch the screen again in the other section you wish to access.

  6. On the Left Side, place a touch and drag your finger up or down. You will feel vibrations with button change and will get audio feedback: <app/feature group name>. Release touch on the desired button to select it.

  7. Actions and features for the selected entry on the Left Side will be visible on the Right Side. Touch, drag, and release to select the action you wish to perform.

  8. On the Right Side, the first entry is Idle, which works as blank space. If you place touch on the Right Side accidentally or simply wish to abort making a decision, you can drag and release the touch in Idle.

Scrolling through a list

Scrolling through a list

  1. The majority of the system's content is in the form of a list. By default, the first or last entry is selected based on the context.

  2. On the Home screen, select Phone on the Left Side and Recents on the Right Side. You'll be taken to the Recent Call History Screen. The first entry, which is the latest call in this case, is selected.

  3. Tapping on the screen generates an audio feedback: <selected item>. In this case, the name of the person who last called.

  4. To scroll through the list, touch the screen, leaving spaces around the edges (ITL). Now drag your finger down (or up). The list will automatically start scrolling, generating audio feedback for every entry.

  5. The farther you drag your finger from the ITL, the faster the list scrolls.

  6. To stop scrolling, drag your finger up (in the opposite direction). To start again, drag your finger back down (in the original direction).

  7. The scroll speed in #6 is retained as it is calculated against the distance from ITL. To reduce the scroll speed, drag the touch closer to ITL (in opp. direction), and drag back down.

  8. To scroll in the opposite direction, drag your finger back to ITL. You will feel a vibration. Then drag your finger up.

  9. Also, you can release the touch to stop scrolling. Wherever you touch next will become the new ITL.

Perform action or go back

Perform action or go back

  1. Once a desired entry is selected on the Recent Call History Screen (via scroll above), drag your finger back to the ITL. Touch again, if you released it to stop scrolling.

  2. From ITL, drag your finger right. After a threshold, you will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: <main action>. In this case, "call."

  3. Release the touch to call the selected entry. To cancel, just drag back to the ITL. Release if you may or continue with other operations.

  4. From ITL, if you drag your finger towards the left, you will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: back. Release the touch to go back to the previous screen.

  5. The Back option is at the same location on every list screen, towards the left, and the main action is towards the right.

There's more actions

There's more actions

  1. We're on the Recents Call History Screen. There are many more actions that can be performed on the selected entry (on any list screen).

  2. To access these actions, touch the screen (ITL) or continue from a previous ITL. There's no need to release the touch, but it's important to return to the ITL.

  3. Now, with one finger already touching the screen, tap on the screen one time with a second finger. You will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: 2 finger options.

  4. Now, the actions in the 4 directions have changed. There's no scrolling on the vertical axis, and the options here work the same as the ones on the horizontal axis.

  5. In this case, the options are: top—timestamp, bottom—add to ★, left—message, and right—delete.

  6. You can now drag your finger in any of the four directions and release the touch after the vibration and audio feedback to perform the action.

  7. Tap one more time with the second finger to access 3 finger options at ITL.

  8. In case you step away from the device or get lost in the system, left and right actions in 3 finger options are always Where Am I and Go Home, respectively.

Call Screen

Call Screen

  1. On the Call Screen, there are only 5 options: Dialpad, Mic On/Off, Speaker On/Off, Add Call, and Hang Up.

  2. Tapping on the action buttons only generates audio feedback: <action button name>. Tapping in the empty space does nothing. This is to prevent accidental touches while on call.

  3. To perform an action, touch anywhere on the screen and drag it to the desired action button. You will feel a vibration and get audio feedback: <action button name>. Release touch to perform the action.

Chat Screen

Chat Screen

  1. On the Home Screen, select Messages on the Left Side. On the Right Side, there will be pinned chats that can be opened directly and an option to see all chats as well.

  2. Once a chat is opened, you will get audio feedback: <last text message in the chat>.

  3. The screen is divided into two parts, chat and action buttons. There are 3 action buttons: Keyboard, Audio Input, and Call. This section works the same as the top section on the Home Screen. Note that the call function is disabled in group chats.

  4. The chat section works as a list, and the last text message is selected by default. To scroll, touch the screen (ITL) and drag your finger up or down. Drag right to reply and left to go back. More actions are available under 2 and 3-finger options.

  5. In a group chat, while scrolling, the text sender's name is called out. In a single-person chat, the timestamps of the texts are called out. On releasing the touch, the message is read out as audio feedback.

  6. In the bottom section, when Audio Input (the mic) is selected, a pop-up appears. Here the user's words are converted to text. When done, the system asks for confirmation: long press to send or double tap to cancel.

  7. The confirmation action is present system-wide for actions such as deleting, uninstalling, blocking, reporting, etc.

  8. The keyboard feature is under development. The button, for now, is just a placeholder.

Notifications

Notifications

  1. On the Home Screen, select Notifications on the Left Side. Notification groups will be available on the right side.

  2. Multiple notifications from one app are clubbed into a group. Dragging the touch on the Right Side will generate audio feedback: <number of notifications, app name>.

  3. Simply release the touch on the desired app to select it. You will be taken to the next screen where the notifications from the selected app are available as a list and can be browsed via sticky scroll (the navigation system that we have been using on all list screens in the previous sections).

Control Center

Control Center

  1. On the Home Screen, select Control Center on the Left Side to access all the quick settings features. On the Right Side, all the features are available as toggles.

  2. To toggle these features on or off, drag your finger to the desired feature and release the touch.

  3. To open further settings for these features, drag your finger to the last option on the Right Side - Settings Opener, and release the touch.

  4. When turned on, the Settings Opener will ask you to select a feature to open its settings. Touch on the Right Side again and release it on the desired feature. You will be taken to the selected feature's settings, and the Settings Opener will automatically be turned off.

Media, All Apps, & Dialpad

Media, All Apps, & Dialpad

The media options on the Home Screen control any app playing media on the device. Select Open App on the Right Side to open the app playing the media.

All Apps on the Left Side has pinned apps on the Right Side with an option to open the All Apps Menu.

Dialpad works the same as Home and Call Screen: touch the screen, drag the touch to the desired action button, and release it to perform the action. This screen has features like Read Input Number, Call, Message, Add To Contacts, etc.
